Platteville is a Weld County town south of Greeley along Highway 85 — a small historic core, a few newer subdivisions, and close enough to both Greeley and Denver's northern suburbs to serve as a bedroom community for either. Fort Lupton is fifteen minutes south, Greeley twenty minutes north.

Housing stock is genuinely mixed — historic homes near Main Street, mid-century ranches around the middle, newer builds on the west and south edges, and a substantial rural fringe with acreage, wells, and septic. Weld RE-1 school district serves the town. Highway 85 is the main north-south commute artery and traffic peaks matter — check drive times at the hour you'd actually leave.
